but most people call me Ricky or Rico so feel free to do the same. I’m currently based in the Chicago area, though I’ve spent much of my life moving around. I’ve lived in Canada and Peru, and within the U.S., I spent a lot of time in New Jersey and New York.

During my time on the East Coast, I developed an early love for music, playing the guitar (though I’d love to learn piano someday). Growing up surrounded by art and creativity, I eventually picked up my cousin’s camera—and I was instantly hooked.

My photography has always revolved around people. I’m passionate about portraiture and love working in a studio environment, where I can fully control the light to shape the mood and atmosphere of an image. I’ve also been deeply involved in short films, capturing behind-the-scenes moments that tell the story beyond the frame.

I have a formal education in photography and am always striving to expand my knowledge. Whether through coursework, hands-on experience, or new creative challenges, I’m constantly pushing myself to grow as an artist.
